Later on,
the best place would be in the light-house. After the
birth of Deus, before you actually have to fight it,
you can explore the world in your air-ship, however
you spell that (Yggdrasil IV!). First, go to the house of the
"fat guy who worked with nanomachines" and
he'll give you 2 nice armors, one for the guys, the
other for the girls. Next, south of Deus, there's a
yellow dot, that is the light-house. Change your
party members, and I suggest Fei, Citan, and
Emeralda, they are the fastest and more less
most powerful. speed will be very useful once inside,
you'll know what I mean...
Inside the light-house, it's the remains of a
"20th century city." First, go around, pick
up everything in the treasure box.
Then, every place with a yellow light, Fei will say
something like we can get off and walk inside"
or something, and you do exactly that. Each place you
go in them has exactly one treasure box, and at the
place where it looks like a TV station, you can save
downstairs, and walk upstairs, turn on the machine in
the front right, and there will be a video
sequence, explaining that Fei and Elly
created Emeralda around 4000 years ago, (which is our
time, I guess the story occured at around 6,000 AD).
There will be a big parking lot and a place in the
ground that collapsed. go inside, keep on going until
you reach the abandoned train. go to the end and
examine it and you'll find a Z-charger,
which you'll want to sell for a lot of G. If you
don't have 3 Tank Guards, this is
the last opportunity to get them. They'll be
essential when fighting Deus.
One thing you want to do as soon as possible is to go
find Big Joe, that is IF you have
some money left after all the gear upgrading. He has
some of the nicest and most expensive items as well
as gear upgrades. Although some engines and armors
are "impressive" I suggest you keep
the X70-8000 engine, but do upgrade your
armor to Z80/E30 or whatever the darn name is, 'cuz
not only does it give you 800 points of defense, it
also gives you 300 points of ether defense. It's also
cheaper than the 900 and 1,000 armors. There will be
a frame upgrade for Rico and Maria's gears which
is worth looking into, and also get the GNR50 which
one guy talked about. An "attractive" thing
will be the Z-charger, which charges 500 fuel
per turn, but I don't suggest that since it
decreases the gear's agility by 2, which is very
significant. Other items he has includes stuff
that'll increase ether, defense, ether defense, and
attack by 1, or health by 20 and ether ability by 5,
which are NOT worth getting since you'll want your
character to be at a very high level anyway, and the
battle inside Deus only involves gears. Also, i don't
recommend refueling with Big Joe,
since you can get your gears refuled free, which I'll
tell ya a bit later. Lastly, everytime you go out and
in where big joe is, the 4 treasure boxes will be
back, but they usually have really cheap stuff.
Rarely you'll find a jerky, an eyeball, or a gun, so
it's not worth running in and out.
Inside
the light-house, there will be 6 types of
enemies:
The attack you want to use the most is ,
since they are the most accurate.
The
dragon is the easiest (after
the 80/30 armor upgrade, and "ether
ar+3" which adds 200 ether defense, and
"ar +7" or above, which adds 80 to
100 physical defense, he won't do ANY damage.
I suggest a "Fix Frame 50" inside
the light-house, 70 takes too much fuel and
30 isn't enough), and that's the time I
suggest you to use , build everyone to
"infinity" and charge fuel, which
will then charge at a rate of 300/turn. (one
other thing...after your 4th attack, if you
have not reached infinity, just keep on
charging your fuel if necessary, and
eventually, you'll get there.)
Hammerhead
always comes in 6, and the best thing to do
is use Emeralda's ether attack, with 6 ether
points, you'll have killed all of them. If
not, those things are very fast, you'll be
looking at quite a bit of damage.
The
"raptor-like things"
(4 in a group) and the
Little
"village people with spears"
(6 each group) only do 1 point of damage per
hit, so play around with those. the
"village people" is also a good
place to refuel.
Remember
the thing with a big lady's head, fin
like things and no actual body, which puts
everyone to sleep (hi
guys, I think its name is Shellby. If anyone
is sure, e-mail me -- webmaster) ? Well, they come in
three here, and if you have a slow gear here,
then you are SCREWED! 'cuz if not killed in
the first round, they'll reduce everyone's
hit points by HALF, character or gear, so
speed is everything, kill it first!
Now
the most annoying and hardest things inside
the light-house are those griffith
looking things, ya know, the "huge birds
that runs on 4 legs." They'll (2 per
group) do almost 4,000 points of damage per
hit and they are extremely fast. Yes, faster
than Emeralda's gear. your faster gears
(Emeralda's and Citan's) will be able to
block or avoid it better than Fei's, but will
still sustain heavy damage, so have the fix
frame 50 handy. this is also the only thing i
suggest using
attacks for. Although they'll avoid most of
Fei's attacks, some of Emeralda's and few of
Citan's but it's worth a gamble. Remember the
one you hit, and use 1 level one deathblow on
it and i'll die. (around 6,000-7,000 hit
points.)
Now,
after you gathered 99 fangs or runs out of
fuel/armor, get out of there, go on your airship,
press the Square to get inside your airship, your
gears will be refuled FREE! then
launch the ship and go to Kislev.
there, you'll be able to exchange items
for money, and you get the most out of your fangs,
eyeballs, scales, jerkies, meats, and steaks.
The
longest I was able to stay in the light-house without
refuel was around 2 hours, which was kinda stupid
'cuz fangs will pile up very fast and anything above
99 will not be kept track of. Whenever you are
satisfied with everyone's levels, (at least 80
for Fei) which goes up at an average rate of
about 45 minutes per level, go on the world map and
learn your deathblows! Citan's with a sword
was cool, and so are the final
deathblows for everyone. While on the world
map, besides the old enemies, there will be 3
types of "angels." The one with a halo
and only appears by itself, I suggest use
Fei's Kamikei, which kills it in one turn. If you are
in gears, then you are screwed 'cuz one "halo
angel attack" will damage your gear from about
7,000 usually, and 9,999 on the Xenogear. For the one
with a big circle in the middle of its body,
they come in 2, but a bit slow, and only damage 150
or so on the characters, generally. Use Yamikei twice
to kill both, or call your gears. As for the last
kind, you have no choice but to call gears,
or at least one person's gear so they'll focus their
attack on that while Fei uses Yamikei. Personally, I
loved using Yamikei since its so damn powerful.
