XENOGEARS
Stand Tall and Shake the Heavens

STALACTITE CAVE

There will be some talk sequences following the end of the battle.

TIPS ON ENEMIES

Tin Robo -- A rather clumsy gear, you can eliminate them with your <X> attacks. He often causes damage to himself when he unsuccessfully attacks you and he falls down.

THE ROCK
Save your game on the memory cube. Go down and head /SOUTH\ until you see a boulder blocking a cave. Go to the rock and examine it. When the rock is pushed away, a talk sequence will follow.

THE LONG WALK
Head /SOUTHWEST\ and enter the misty entrance. You will have to take a long walk. In this 'road' is filled with enemies so watch out!

NOTE: If you get into battle mode with a GRAY Gear, don't attack it! It may be a NOMAD FIX BOT! This is a good gear and he'll repair your gear and restore your fuel. If it's your turn to attack, choose 'charge' instead. After both of the gears have been repaired and refueled, choose ESCAPE when it's your turn.

You think the walk is over at the end of the road. Nope, there's still another path to take but this time, it's a long bridge.

At the end of the bridge, you'll find a white gear which gives information about the place.

OLD MAN BAL
After talking with the gear, go on with the walk and you'll find yourself in a place with Terrace Stones. Climb on them and head for the look for the memory cube at the /SOUTHEAST\. Now go to the small door on the [right] side of the memory card.

When you get in, you'll have a talk with the old man. After he talks to Fei and Bart, talk to him again.

You will be fighting a STRONG gear named Calamity very soon so now you'll need to tune up your gear. Buy the best as possible if you can afford them. If not, don't worry, you'll be fighting more enemies later and you can get money from them after defeating them.

LOOKING FOR THE SAND SENSORS
At this point, the Terrace Stones have two exits. The one in the /NORTH\, the [right] one, the path which you used to come to the place and another one at the /WEST\ side, or the [left] one, over the terraces. The two sand sensors are found on both sides.

Go to the exit on the [right]. You'll find yourself back to where the white gear is. Talk to him for more information on where the sand sensors are.

WATERFALL GROTTO SAND SENSOR
From the white gear, head /NORTHWEST\, under a bridge. Jump over that elevated portion and turn /NORTH\. You'll see that there is a higher elevated portion. Jump to that place. Remember to do a running jump to reach it. It is easier to jump if the you are looking at the side view. Examine the sand sensor to disengage it.

After disengaging that sand sensor, turn back and you'll see another higher elevated portion. Jump to it and examine the box to get the Iron GWhip.

TIPS ON ENEMIES

May Fly -- One of the most destructive enemies on the road. When it's Bart's turn to fight, use the Ether Machine to do a Wild Smile spell on him. This will lower the enemy's defense and accuracy. Without using Bart's Wild Smile, this enemy is difficult to defeat.

Medusoid -- An annoying enemy since there are times when your o attacks can create a great deal of damage and sometimes you can hurt them at all. Use your most powerful attacks right away.

Retrace your step (/SOUTHEAST\) and go to back to the white gear then back to the Terrace Stones.

GREAT HALL SAND SENSOR
Climb up to the [left] exit. You'll find yourself up the bridge and you'll be able to see the white gear far below. Go straight back again to the long road. You will encounter enemies along the road.

You'll find yourself back at the place where the huge round rock was blocking the entrance to the cave. Go /NORTH\ then turn /WEST\ and get to the end of the bridge to see the sand sensor. Examine it to disengage.

Jump down then head /WEST\. You'll find yourself at the entrance of the cave again. You'll find yourself walking back on the long road. Go straight and you'll see the white gear again. When you're back in Terrace Stones, go back to memory cube at Old Man Bal's and save your game.

PREPARING FOR CALAMITY
Talk to Ol' Man Bal. After a sequence, you'll find yourself back inside your gear outside the house. Get back to the house and look for Ol' Man Bal and buy some gear parts from him. Buy those parts which you couldn't previously afford. Remember to refuel when you tune up your Engine and Frame. Get out of the house and save the game in the memory cube.

OUT THE CAVE
To the [right] side of Ol' Man Bal's house is the gate which was closed during your fight with Bart but is now open. Go through that gate. Go straight and then turn left. Get out of your gears by pressing L2+R2. Examine the gondola.

After riding the gondola, you'll find yourself in a place where there's this wooden building with red light. Go to the red light and examine it. Choose 'turn on main power'. The color of the light should change to green.

Ride back on the gondola. Get on your gears again by pressing L2+R2. Head /WEST\ and examine the elevator to get down. Head /SOUTH\ and you'll find a deep portion filled with diffent things. Don't stay too long there because it's filled with enemies.

After crossing the deep portion, you'll see another memory cube. Save your game. I mean it.

Go down the elevator near the memory cube. You'll find yourself in a place with a broken concrete road. Walk to the end of the road and watch CALAMITY arrive. Get down and head /EAST\ and you'll see Calamity start a fight with you.

BOSS FIGHT
CALAMITY
2500 HP
If you didn't listen to what I told you about tuning up your gears, then you're in big trouble. You need to tune up your gears and get the best engines and armors to defeat this guy.

Calamity breaks down. A sequence follows. Then go /EAST\, turn [right] and jump on the elevated portion then jump to the concrete road and get out of the cave.
